WPU New Music Ensemble presents the east coast premier performance of Leaf 1: Japanese Knotweed. Commissioned by CSUF in 2022, this new work is unique in that Eleonor made a drawing of the leaf and uses that as the score. There are clear instructions as to how to navigate the drawing and it will be projected during the performance, allowing the audience to experience the visual aspect of this unusual piece. Directed by Carl Patrick Bolleia with Payton MacDonald, the group will also perform a selection of graphic scores by Earl Brown, Anthony Braxton and MacDonald.
