“Contemplation 1 was originally conceived as an electronic piece. I was playing around with layering the sounds of different electric guitars, and I wasn’t sure how was going to use it. I’d be talking with Seth Josel for years about writing a piece for him, and this was a sort of compositional etude for me.”
